AMD announced three new additions to the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen desktop processor family. Introducing XT branding for the first time to the Ryzen family of processors the Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT. This trio has received a higher turbo clock speed than the X models, but the exact increase differs per model while the basic clock speed has remained the same in all cases.
The Ryzen 9 3900XT has a 100 MHz higher turbo than the 3900X. The Ryzen 7 3800XT gets a 200 MHz higher turbo clock than the non-XT version, which is the biggest difference in clock speed of the three announced processors. The Ryzen 5 3600XT with 4.5 GHz turbo is only 100 MHz faster than the Ryzen 5 3600X.
Ryzen 3000XT Specifications and Thermal Soultions
All other specifications such as the number of cores the amount of cache memory and the TDP have remained the same as the X models. This also applies to the recommended prices which with 499, 399 and 249 USD for the 3900XT, 3800XT and 3600XT respectively are equal to the recommended prices of the X versions. It is striking that the AMD will ship the Ryzen 9 3900XT and Ryzen 7 3800XT without a cooler. Buyers of the 3900X and 3800X still receive a Wraith Prism RGB processor cooler from AMD with the boxed variant, but the cooler is not included with the 3900XT and 3800XT. AMD’s argument is that the hardware enthusiasts in this segment more often than not use an aftermarket CPU cooler to achieve maximum performance. Of the AMD Ryzen 3000XT processors, the Ryzen 5 3600XT is the only one that does come with a cooler. As with the 3600X, this comes with the Wraith Spire without RGB lighting.
