AMD announced the new RX 5500 series based on 7nm process, RDNA architecture and Navi core in early October, including desktop and mobile versions, but has not been officially released.
Now, a publicity material suspected to be from AMD officially leaked, detailing the specifications and performance of the RX 5500 series.
Leaked material show that the RX 5500 is based on the Navi 14 core, with 22 computing units, 1408 stream processors, core frequency desktop game 1670MHz, acceleration 1845MHz, mobile version 1448MHz, acceleration 1645MHz (reference frequency not mentioned), with 128-bit 4/8GB GDDR6 memory, equivalent frequency 14GHz, bandwidth 224GB/s.
The typical power consumption of the whole card is 110W for desktop and 85W for mobile . It requires a single 8-pin auxiliary power supply and supports PCIe 4.0.
Competitor positioning is the lowest-end model GTX 1650 of the NVIDIA Turing family. It claims that the average game performance of 3A is up to 49%, and the average performance of mainstream esports games is 37%. It is suitable to play GTX 1660 Super.
However, the material does not list the legendary premium version of the RX 5500 XT , which is said to open all 24 computing units and 1536 stream processors.

It is also worth mentioning that in the product line layout, the Radeon VII, which is said to have been discontinued and delisted, is still listed, but the RX 590/580/570 of the Polaris architecture is gone, leaving only the RX 560/550. It seems that with the release of the RX 5500 series, the Polaris, which has been in existence for many years, is finally completely retired.
