Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 with Snapdragon 636 & Stock Android Oreo launched

Asus on Monday announced the launch of its latest mid-range smartphone – Zenfone Max Pro M1 – in India. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 will add to the new Zenfone Max series by the company. The USP of the smartphone is its monster 5,000mAh battery capacity which comes with fast charging support and Stock Android 8.1 (Oreo). The company is also promising that the device will receive the next two major Android updates, up to Android Q.

Specifications

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is equipped with a 5.99-inch ‘full view’ Full HD+ IPS display with
a 2160x1080p resolution and 403ppi pixel density. Despite the display size, it is cased in a 5.5-inch body allowing for a more comfortable hold.
Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC, 509 Adreno GPU, is paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM with 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card.
In terms of the camera, there’s a pair of 13-megapixel (f2.2) sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor at the back, with support for the Portrait Mode, PDAF, and auto focus. Up front, there’s an 8-megapixel (f2.2) sensor for selfies and video calling with soft light LED flash support.
On the software front, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It is the first smartphone from Asus to deliver the pure Android experience. It further comes with support for dual SIM cards via triple slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Face Unlock feature.
It comes with a 5-magnet speaker and an NXP smart amplifier. Asus, in addition, will be bundling a Max Box passive amplifier with the ZenFone Max Pro M1, that can apparently amplify the audio up to 1.7X naturally. The 5,000mAh battery inside the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is claimed to offer 34.1 days of 4G stand-by and 25.3 hours of 1080p video playback, and up to 35 hours of 3G talk-time. The phone weights 180g.

Price and availability

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is available in two variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version is priced at ₹ 10,999, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model costs ₹12,999. The smartphone will start selling exclusively via Flipkartfrom May 3, 2018. There’s also a third model with 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, 16-megapixel+5-megapixel camera setup, 16-megapixel front camera, which will be available at a later date for a price of ₹14,999.

Offers

If you are a Vodafone subscriber, you will be eligible for an additional 10GB data for one year on ₹ 199 and above plans on the purchase of this smartphone. There’s also a no-cost EMI offer on the Zenfone Max Pro M1. If you exchange an old device, you will be eligible for ₹ 1,000 additional off on the purchase.
Along the sidelines of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, Flipkart announced a new protection plan for smartphones. The comprehensive plan covers broken screens, liquid damage, hardware and software issues, and more. Remote assistance is also provided as part of the plan. The complete mobile protection plan is available for an introductory price of ₹ 49. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be the first smartphone to be available with the new plan.
