In today’s world of computer components, where performance and efficiency are key factors, choosing the right cooling system for the processor becomes a critical task. Deepcool, a well-known manufacturer of coolers and cooling systems, recently released a new model — Deepcool Assassin 4S. This cooler promises to provide high cooling efficiency even for the most powerful processors, combining efficiency and stylish design.
Packaging
The cooler comes in a cardboard box with Deepcool logos and a green stripe printed on it, while the product artwork and key specifications are printed on the paper box cover.
Installation
DeepCool’s Assassin 4S is constructed with a dual-tower design, placing a 140mm fan centrally between two heat sink towers. This design helps distribute airflow evenly through the fins, optimizing heat dissipation. With seven 6mm heat pipes spread between the towers, the cooler efficiently transfers heat from the CPU into the aluminium fins for effective cooling even under load. At 164mm in height, it’s compact enough to fit inside most mid-tower cases, which is a relief for users who want top-tier cooling but are working with limited space.
There will also be no problems with the first PCI Express connector. The cooler will be close to it, but will not interfere. Only inconveniences with M.2 are possible – in some cases, you will have to remove the video card to install or remove the NVMe storage device.
The aesthetics are minimalistic and modern, with a matte finish and an attractive magnetically attached top cover. This cover can be easily removed, making it convenient for cleaning or adjusting the fan. The cooler comes in both black and white versions, allowing users to choose based on their case aesthetics. With the magnetized cover and premium build quality, the Assassin 4S not only performs well but looks great too, adding a touch of refinement to a system build.
Performance
The Assassin 4S is equipped with a single 140mm fan (DeepCool DFr1402512CH) placed between its two towers, operating at speeds between 500 and 1800 RPM.
On the casing on top of the cooler, there is a fan mode switch. There are two modes: performance “four dots” and quiet “two dots”. There is also an illuminated logo on this panel, the brightness of its glow depends on the selected operating mode. If it is performance mode, then the glow is bright, if it is quiet mode, then the glow will decrease accordingly. It is not possible to turn off the logo illumination completely.
In performance mode, the Assassin 4S achieves 61 CFM of airflow at its peak. For users preferring quieter operation, Quiet Mode reduces the fan speed to a maximum of 1450 RPM, decreasing airflow to around 48 CFM. These options allow users to toggle between performance and noise control, with an impressive 22.6 dB(A) noise level in Quiet Mode, making the Assassin 4S suitable for a silent PC build.
Conclusion
Deepcool Assassin 4S turned out to be an effective and productive solution for cooling processors. The DeepCool Assassin 4S offers strong value, especially considering its premium design and reliable cooling performance. Competing coolers from brands like Noctua and Be Quiet! are generally priced higher, which makes the Assassin 4S a more cost-effective choice for those looking for high-end air cooling solutions on a budget. Also, the white version of this cooler will be a good choice for those looking for a cooling system to assemble in matching colours.
For Indian consumers, the Assassin 4S delivers an attractive balance of performance and noise control, with added compatibility for AMD and Intel CPUs. It’s particularly well-suited for users who need efficient cooling for gaming or intensive workloads without moving to liquid cooling. The 7,720 INR price point solidifies its value, making it one of the best options under ₹8,000 for those aiming to maintain lower CPU temperatures while keeping noise levels in check.
