Huawei continues to develop its Harmony OS mobile operating system. According to Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei Consumer Business Group’s software development division, the open platform will become available to developers around December 18. And the first demos running Harmony OS will arrive in January or February 2021.
Wang Chenglu said that all Huawei employees are working on creating a new ecosystem based on the Harmony idea, and so far everything is going according to plan. The Harmony OS public beta is expected to be released around April 2021.

A spokesperson for Huawei Consumer Business Group also added that about 90% of the company’s smartphones should be ready for an upgrade as soon as it is released.
There is a small chance that the US could soften its position and allow Google to work with Huawei again, and the Chinese manufacturer could use the services of the American tech giant on its devices. But so far, events are developing in such a way that soon a third company may appear on the smartphone market offering its operating system.
