Motorola is all set to launch its Moto G6 and G6 Play smartphones at an event in Delhi later today. Both handsets were launched in Brazil last month.The two smartphones will be the successor of the last year’s Moto G5s series in the Lenovo-owned brand’s portfolio.
Moto G6
The Moto G6 has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and it the first phone from Motorola with a full-screen display. Motorola Moto G6 uses a 1.8 GHz octa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, either 3GB/4GB RAM or 32GB/64GB storage.
The primary camera is a 12MP unit with an aperture of f/1.8 and phase-detect autofocus. Unfortunately, it can’t shoot 4K videos and is limited to 1080p at up to 60 frames per second. The secondary depth camera is 5MP for depth of field and bokeh effects. The selfie camera on the front is 16MP and comes with a front flash. It captures a really good amount of detail in photos.
The Moto G6 comes with 32GB of built-in storage, and support for storage expansion up to 128GB via microSD cards. For connectivity, the smartphone has 4G LTE, WI-Fi, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm earphone jack, the standard sensors, and Bluetooth 4.2. There’s a 3000mAh battery with TurboCharge support to keep things running. Available in Indigo and Silver colour options, the model measures 153.7×72.3×8.3mm.
The Moto G6 measures 8.3mm and weighs in at 167 grams.
Moto G6 Play
Moto G6 Play also has a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio too, but it gets a panel with HD+ (720×1440 pixel) resolution. Moto G6 Play uses a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430, with Adreno 505 GPU. Buyers also get 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and microSD card support up to 128GB.
A 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and single LED flash is on the back, while a similar selfie flash and an 8-megapixel sensor with 80-degree lens and f/2.2 aperture is on the back.
The highlight of the Moto G6 Play is its large 4000mAh battery, again with TurboCharge support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, micro USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and the usual sensors. Released in Indigo and Gold colours like its sibling Moto G6, the handset weighs 173 grams and measures 154.4×72.2×8.95mm.
Price, Availability and Launch Offers
The Moto G6 price has been set as Rs. 13,999 in India and the Moto G6 Play is priced at Rs. 11,999. There are certain launch offers with both the phones as well. On purchasing Moto G6, HDFC customers will get instant Rs. 1,250 discount, while Airtel Prepaid users will get Rs. 2,000 cashback. There are no-cost EMI options as well.
While for Moto G6 Play, ICICI bank customers will get Rs. 1,000 discount. Reliance Jio has also offers extra data to Moto G6 Play buyers. Also, Paytm Mall will offer cashback on purchasing the device.
Moto G6 has been confirmed to be an Amazon-exclusive, while the Moto G6 Play will be available only via Flipkart.
