Qualcomm continues to expand its lineup of Snapdragon mobile chipsets. This time, the addition to the mid-range 700-series is the Snapdragon 778G.
If you remember, Qualcomm released the 5nm Snapdragon 780G SoC in March, which is one step below the current top-end Snapdragon 888 platform. So the Snapdragon 778G is a lower quality version of the Snapdragon 780G. The main difference is the not so advanced technological unit. The novelty is produced according to the 6 nm process technology at TSMC facilities, while the Snapdragon 780G is produced on the Samsung 5-nm node. This means the Snapdragon 778G is more susceptible to overheating and throttling.

The Snapdragon 778G features a Kryo 670 octa-core processor, Adreno 642L GPU and Spectra 570L image processor to simultaneously capture stills and videos from wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses. Also, the SоС configuration includes a built-in Snapdragon X53 5G-RF modem, operating both in the bands below 6 GHz (Sub-6 GHz) and in millimetre waves (mmWave standard).
