Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 678 SoC which focuses on improving photo quality, connectivity and battery life.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 678 is manufactured using an 11nm manufacturing process. It gets a Kryo 460 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, up from the 2.0GHz on the Snapdragon 675. The GPU remains the same Adreno 612, but Qualcomm says the company has increased its performance. Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 is optimized for Unity, Messiah, NeoX and Unreal Engine 4.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 supports resolutions up to 2520 x 1080 pixels with 10-bit colour depth. The 14-bit signal processor Qualcomm Spectra 250L is responsible for image processing.
