After launching the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro in India last January, Redmi is rumoured to be releasing another budget phone, the Redmi 7. The smartphone has not officially launched yet, but its hands-on video has been circulating on YouTube. The video was first uploaded by a Vietnamese YouTuber on the “Tony Phang Studio” , but the video may have been deleted. Unfortunately, before being withdrawn, the video was circulated and uploaded by other YouTubers.
In the video, the Redmi 7 looks compared to the Redmi Note 7 which has been released in China and India. At first look, the face and back look the same. The front of the Redmi 7 has a small notch called the teardrop screen as a front camera holder. The back of the Redmi 7 is also similar, both are equipped with a dual camera, fingerprint scanner panel, and LED flash with a tint of colour gradation. From the video, the hardware section is written “qcom” and “msm8953” which is the series name of the Snapdragon 625 SOC (system-on-chip).
The chipset is combined with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. There will probably be several memory variants including 3GB / 16GB RAM, 3GB / 32GB, and 4GB / 64GB.
The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels, while the main camera on the back has a resolution of 12 megapixels. There is no mention of what the secondary camera configuration is, but according to rumours that have been widely circulated, the second camera will have a resolution of 8 megapixels. At the bottom, a micro USB plug lined up to charge a 4,000 mAh battery.
The specification of the Redmi 7 has also been on the TENNA certification site. In the site, it was revealed that the Redmi 7 screen will measure 6.26 inches LCD panel with a resolution of 1520 x 720 with an aspect ratio of 19: 9. The dimensions of the smartphone may be 158.6mm x 76.4mm x 8.9mm with a weight of 180 grams. This device will be run with the Android 9 Pie operating system coated with the MIUI 10 interface.
The Redmi 7 is believed to be soon going to land in India in the Q2 of 2019.
