A smartphone without a notch, camera hole or extendable camera? It’s finally here. The Chinese manufacturer ZTE has unveiled the Axon 20 5G. That’s the first smartphone with a selfie camera behind the screen.

As expected, ZTE has launched the Axon 20 5G. The smartphone has a 6.92 inch OLED screen. What is special is that the device does not have a notch, camera hole or extendable camera. The front of the phone consists almost entirely of the screen and underneath it is the selfie camera with a resolution of 32 megapixels.

The screen of the Axon 20 5G is transparent on the spot of the front camera. You shouldn’t be able to see that, though. ZTE uses special chips and drivers that sync the colours with the rest of the display. So it has to look like you’re looking at an uninterrupted screen.

In the large display and the unique selfie camera, the specifications of the ZTE Axon 20 5G are fairly modest. The smartphone runs on a Snapdragon 765G, the same processor as in the OnePlus Nord. The battery has a capacity of 4220 mAh. There will be three different configurations with 6, 8 and 12GB of RAM. The storage capacity is 64, 128 and 256GB respectively.

On the back of the Axon 20 5G, there are four cameras. The primary camera has a resolution of 64 megapixels. In addition, there is an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a macro camera with 2 megapixels. The fourth camera is a depth sensor.

ZTE Axon 20 5G Pricing & Availability
